Alena’s Graduation Celebration –  Lakehouse Hotel, Columbia, MD

When Tangent reached out to Blue Haven Events Co. to celebrate her daughter Alena’s high school graduation, she wanted something that felt timeless, elegant, and deeply personal. Everything about the celebration was custom – from the invitations to the flower wall and décor – and she wanted the photo booth experience to match that same high-end design.

The event planner, however, had already booked her preferred photo booth vendor and wasn’t thrilled that Tangent chose to bring in Blue Haven instead. On top of that, when our team arrived on-site, the space we were directed to use had no nearby power source and blocked the beautiful lakeside view that was meant to be part of the evening’s ambiance.

Our team took one look at the setup and decided to do what was best for the client – not what was easiest. We evaluated the layout, found a way to reposition the booth without compromising the flow, and adjusted the setup so that guests could capture the lake view in the background. We carefully taped and secured our extension cords to reach power safely and unobtrusively, and worked efficiently to stay ahead of schedule.

Despite the initial tension, professionalism and teamwork prevailed. Once we made the change, Tangent was thrilled with the new setup, and the event planner – initially skeptical – quickly realized how the adjustment elevated the overall guest experience.

The celebration was pure joy from start to finish. Our custom Instaprint booth featured a 3-up 2×6 photo strip, a 4×6 digital print, and a GIF option that played to Alena’s favorite song. The design perfectly matched the fonts and graphics from her invitations and décor –  a seamless integration of her brand-style celebration.

Guests flowed to the booth all evening. Students captured GIFs with their friends, parents and grandparents posed proudly with Alena, and even the violinist joined in for photos and GIFs with guests. The energy was lively, elegant, and full of love – the kind of event where everyone felt included and celebrated.
